Greetings!

Welcome to Superoceras, a blog about science and natural history, slightly biased towards paleontology and zoology, but inclusive of all sciences. Started in October of 2009, my goal is to communicate scientific knowledge (and the occasional piece of nonsense) in an informative and entertaining manner. Feel free to contact me with questions, comments, concerns, or criticism at superoceras(at)gmail(dot)com, and follow me on Twitter @Superoceras for all that and more in 140 characters or less!

Pink Dinosaurs - The Final Push!

Alright, ladies and gentlemen. On October 31, peter Bond posted an update on the ART Evolved: Life's Time Capsule "Pink Dinosaur" fundraising event, extending it to November 10. This was great for me personally, because it gave me time to finish up and submit all 31 of my pink dinosaurs (one for every day of the month). This was also great for the cause, as it has given everyone more time to submit and raise/donate money.

On November 11, the ART Evolved Crew will make a CAN$1.00 donation for every pink dinosaur submitted (as of writing this, they are up to 226, with at least two more of mine to post) which will bring the grand total to just under the CAN$500.00 goal. It's time for that final push, everyone! Whether it be in support of cancer research, paleo art, human female secondary sexual characteristics, or giving money away to a great cause, I highly urge you make a donation, even if you can only spare a dollar or two. Perhaps you need a little incentive? Well if you act now, I'll let you purchase one of my original pieces from the event for the low, low cost of US$1.00! Can you believe it? If you're interested, comment below or e-mail me at superoceras(at)gmail(dot)com and we'll work out some kind of arrangement. And check out all of the fantastic submissions over at ART Evolved! Thank you to all parties involved in making this project a reality.

31 pink dinosaurs, spanning 228 million years. All done on one pad of paper, with the same two highlighters, marker, pencil, pen, and dozen color pencils (except the MS Paint Brachiosaurus). My access to a proper scanner was lacking in the end, but I'm glad I made it. Get your "Pink Dino" today!

  1. Hey, can you make the image bigger??

  2. Um... apparently not. I used to post "large" photos all the time that would open up enlarged in a new window when you clicked them, but they don't seem to do that anymore. Any bloggers have any suggestions?
